Helping the NE to carry the babies big and small

Please not from 1st May it will be £7 to hire for 2 weeks due to increased cost of slings, tea, coffee and CAKE. £10 for month hire and £25 for 3 month stretchy hire.

There will be no Saturday Slings Session in August.

We serve the whole north east - County Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Northumberland, Teeside and beyond.

The aim of the NESL is to offer independent information and advice about baby carriers and slings. The sling library is a free drop in session, coffee meet, catch up, social. Where we talk lots about slings. I also offer individual babywearing consultations. These sessions allow you the chance to try out and borrow from our increasing range of slings. The North East Sling Library allows you the opportunity to try out different types of carrier in order to find the one that is right for you.  There is a lot to choose from and we believe this allows you the perfect opportunity to try before you buy.  If the sling you have isn’t working, it’s the wrong sling.  It isn’t because your baby is too big to be worn.  Whether you are looking for a sling that you can use every day or have a special occasion or holiday in mind we are here to help.

I am an independant sling library and my aim is to give you the information and help you with what you need to get started with using a baby carrier free of charge, and have a collection of slings and carriers that are available to borrow for a small fee.  It costs £5 (plus refundable deposit) to hire a baby carrier for 2 weeks so that you can really see how it will work for you and your family. I am now able to also offer sling sales on certain carriers too. Just ask.
