The sling library also acts as a free drop in session, coffee meet, catch up and social. Where we talk lots about slings. The North East Sling Library allows you the opportunity to try out different types of carrier in order to find the one that is right for you. There is a lot to choose from and we believe this allows you the perfect opportunity to try before you buy. If the sling you have isn’t working, it’s the wrong sling. It isn’t because your baby is too big to be worn. Whether you are looking for a sling that you can use every day or have a special occasion or holiday in mind we are here to help.
We don’t sell slings or carriers and we’re not affiliated with any retailer or manufacturer so offer completely independent advice. However, we have been lucky enough to received donations from a number of manufacturers and retailers (details in the thanks page) and are able to offer discount codes to some of these. We give you the information and help you need to get started with using a baby carrier free of charge, and have a collection of slings and carriers that are available to borrow for a small fee.
It costs £5 (plus refundable deposit) to hire a baby carrier for approximately 2 weeks so that you can really see how it will work for you and your family. Deposits vary up to £100 and are to protect me against loss. I have only once kept a deposit. Most people pay them by cheque.
Hope that answers people's questions. Anything else, shout!
